• Symposium To Study Allocation Of The Electricity Sector

    The Investment Center of Ahsarqia Chamber organized on May 26, 2009 its 3rd symposium for the purpose of dealing with the allocation of the electricity sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Both local and foreign experts will speak on policies and practices for the allocation of the sector and plans for the Kingdom in this regard. They will also discuss the visible global impact of the evolution of the electricity industry on economic development.

    The Secretary-General of the Chamber, Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Nueim that the seminar would also focus on a detailed presentation on the highlights of what has been achieved in this area and the future prospects for investment and the latest global trends in the electricity sector. 

    Al-Nueim also mentioned that the Chamber, in cooperation with the Financial Profits Company, will host financial experts and specialists to provide a comprehensive view on the nature of investment in the electricity sector. The experts will also discuss experiences and relevant lessons learned by countries with long experience in the vital area of electricity. 

    A number of keynote speakers will participate in this symposium lecturing on three important topics. The President of Menlo Energy Economics Company in the United States, Dr. Perry Ciocinsi Fridon, will discuss the challenges and new trends in the electricity industry worldwide.  Dr. Reza Fadlallah, Assistant Professor of Economics at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, will discuss the impact the development of the electricity industry on productivity and economic growth (in Australia). Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Profits Company, Saad Al-Hasoosah, along with expert Jafar Hussein of the same company, will both discuss privatization and investment growth in the electricity industry in Saudi Arabia.
